Due to a full workload with regular clients and new ventures on the horizon, Merrin and Hana are offering Social Media Sorted for sale. We have both been working-from-home mums for the last 2 years and this business has enabled us to earn an income and learn valuable business skills around raising our young children.
Social Media Sorted was developed in order to meet the growing demand for small businesses needing assistance with their online and social media presence. After completing the ‘Let’s Get Social‘ social media management course, we both worked hard to develop the Social Media Sorted brand, website and social platforms. Staying informed about up-to-date social media news has allowed us to be a great source of knowledge for our clients, followers and fans.
As far as the business sale goes, what we are essentially offering is the brand, the website, an online community and a platform from which you will establish your own client base and network. Most of our clients have been one-off (e.g. training, Facebook set-up), however we are happy to pass on our email-marketing database. We each have a few clients that we will be keeping as we have developed very close working relationships with them and they wish to deal only with us personally.
The potential with this business is to not only grow your own network of regular clients, but also to train up employees or self-employed contractors (Social Media Assistants) to outsource the workload as your business grows. The business could also work well as a franchise in different states/countries.
Hana and I started Social Media Sorted to enable us to earn a part-time income while being stay at home Mums with our young children (approx $2000/month each) We have achieved this and more with no mainstream advertising, mostly SEO and word of mouth and within our Facebook and Twitter networks. With more time, motivation and marketing the earning potential in this growing area is unlimited. We have operated this business as a base for each of us to work as independent sole-traders, but sharing the same brand and website. The reason we have not spent much time and money on advertising and chasing new clients, is that we very quickly gained a loyal client base that has kept us very busy and we did not wish to take on extra staff.
As we move on to new ventures, we believe the Social Media Sorted business is perfect for another up and coming social media manager to establish their own working from home career, or even develop the brand to become a leader in the industry; something that we always wanted to do but never had the time.
As the new owner of Social Media Sorted you will receive the reins to run the website, Facebook and Twitter account as you wish, and use it as an online platform for growing your own network of clients as we have over the past 2 years. We have tailored our content to suit New Zealand and Australian clients but it can be easily adapted to suit your local market.

- Skype name and any other online account usernames that can be changed or transferred
- All the website content but the original author of the blog posts must remain unchanged. (ie you cannot claim the old content as your own)
- The rights to give away our 40+ page social media marketing book - currently used to attract email list subscribers (the original content can be updated but original authors must be credited with the original content and links remain unchanged.)
- All of the existing affiliate links on the site can be swapped with the new owner’s links. Affiliate marking brings in a small amount of income, again, this is an area that can be developed.
- A brief operations and strategy manual detailing how we have operated this business and handled our clients, including example reports and templates.
An optional fully supported training package in WordPress and/or Social Media Management can be negotiated as an add-on. Our client testimonials can be left on the site if requested.
The asking price?
We want Social Media Sorted to go to a good home but we would also like a fair compensation for the hundreds of hours spent on developing the website, building backlinks, fan base and perfecting the services, navigation and content. All offers will be considered.
Support will be offered throughout a ‘hand-over’ period, however we do encourage new owners to complete the Lets Get Social course and get familiar with WordPress. We started with no formal experience in this industry and this course is a great entry level program.
We are very sad to see this business go but feel it has enormous potential for a motivated new owner, everything is set up and ready to go.
